DAY 1 Luang Prabang Arrival
On arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After, you have had time to rest and freshen up we will head off on bicycles to see some of the highlights of Luang Prabang including a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts from the Royal period in Luang Prabang. Cycling on we are seeing the city’s oldest temples, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roof sweeping low to the ground, representing classical Lao architecture, the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham. DAY 2 Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cake
Today we embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, stopping at Ban Xiengmene, Wat Long Khun and the limestone cave of Tham Sakkarin. Following a picnic lunch we continue our boat journey the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. These caves are an ancient pilgrimage site and contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha images left there over hundreds of years. Returning to Luang Prabang you have the option of visiting Ban Xiengkek and Ban Xangkhong where villagers making jute paper and continue to visit the textile village of Phanom, a small village known for its hand weaving or returning to your hotel to relax. DAY 3 Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfall
After breakfast we begin our journey to Khouangsi Waterfall stopping along the way to visit the morning Phousi Market, this where all the locals of Luang Prabang come to do their daily shopping. You will see a variety of local foodstuffs and products including dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, fish, vegetables and fruit, everything needed for daily life in Laos. On arrival at the Khouangsi Waterfall you will have the opportunity to cool off with a refreshing swim in the topaz pools below the falls, walk along the forest trails and visit the Bear Sanctuary. DAY 4 Luang Prabang – [Flight] - Hanoi
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer with Driver only to airport for the flight to Hanoi. Arrival Noi Bai international airport, meeting with ESG and transfer to Hotel for check-in. Enjoying Vietnamese water puppet performance Overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 5 Hanoi – Halong by SIC
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will join other passengers on a pleasant overland journey to Ha Long Bay (around 3.5 hours). On arrival of Ha Long, boarding and the cruise starts with lunch served. Overnight: On board the junk in Ha Long Bay.
DAY 6 Hanoi – Halong by SIC
The morning starts by an early Tai Chi exercise on the upper deck of the junk, followed by a light breakfast. The cruise continues at the same time when brunch is served. After brunch, disembarkation then return transfer to Hanoi. Overnight at Hanoi.
DAY 7 Hanoi City Tour Full Day –[Flight]- Hue
Breakfast at hotel. Pick up at hotel , Then visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum close on Monday and Friday morning) and Museum to explore the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho’s final resting-place. Just next door is Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts and lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda which was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 - the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi, continue on to the Quan Thanh Temple (Taoist - dating from the Ly Dynasty) and the Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda on the West lake (One of the oldest pagoda in Vietnam). Lunch at local restaurant. PM: After lunch visit the Ethnology Museum (apply on Sun, Tue, Thu & Sat), the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam (Vietnam’s first university, constructed in 1070 - it’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past), Hoan Kiem lake and Ngoc Son temple. Walking in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where you’ll then have a chance for some shopping and exploration. Transfer to airport for the flight to Hue. Arrival Phu Bai airport (in Hue), transfer to Hotel for check in . Overnight at Hue.
DAY 8 Hue World Heritage Site
After breakfast at the hotel, embarkation on a Perfume River cruise to visit ancient relics located on either side of the river, being Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest pagoda of Hue. Then you will visit the Royal Citadel on the bank of romantic river where the last feudal dynasty of Vietnam reigned within 140 years. In the afternoon, visit to Emperor Tu Duc’s royal tomb and Khai Dinh’s tomb where the structure of an extraordinary architectural style is displayed. Overnight in Hue.
DAY 9 Hue – My Son – Hoian
After breakfast at the hotel, overland transfer to Hoi An. En route, photo stop on top of the Hai Van Pass (weather permitting) to view the sea and the mountain tops covered with mist. Visit the complex of ancient Cham ruins of a kingdom that flourished in Central Vietnam hundreds of years ago. The Champa Kingdom was reigning along the coastal plains of Central Vietnam between about AD 192 and 1832. Archaeological sites such as My Son are represented by towers, temples and cemeteries with rich bronze and gold artifacts. The Champa people controlled the coast, being of Hindu religion and had strong ties to Indian subcontinent. The descendants of the Champa Kingdom still live along the coast and are part of Vietnam today. Arrival Hoi An ancient town, Hotel check-in. Overnight in Hoi An.
DAY 10 Hoian World Heritage Site
Breakfast at the hotel. Walking tour to explore the old town that sits on the banks of Thu Bon river. Visit Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Communal House, Thien Hau Temple, and ancient house. PM: Freetime at leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.
DAY 11 Hoian – Danang – [Flight] – Siem Rep
Breakfast at the hotel. Free and leisure till departure. Transfer with Driver only to Danang airport for the flight to Sieam Rep. Arrival Siem Rep, meeting with ESG & transfer to Hotel for check in. Overnight in Siem Rep.
DAY 12 Siem Rep – Angkor Complex
Breakfast at hotel. Travel to visit South Gate of Angkor Thom, famous Bayon, Bapuon, Terrace of Elephants and Leper King and Phimean Akas temples. In the afternoon, we start our trip to explore the World Heritage “Angkor Wat Temple” and sunset view from Bakheng Hill. Overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.
DAY 13 Siem Rep Departure
Breakfast at hotel, free and leisure. Hotel check out (12:00) then transfer with driver only to the airport for departure flight.
