DAY 1: Munich - Nuremberg
In the morning travel to Nuremberg. Visit Nuremberg’s historic city centre and learn more about its impressive history with a tour of well preserved castle, Gothic churches, romantic houses and peaceful squares. Overnight in Nuremberg.
DAY 2: Nuremberg - Regensburg - Passau
After breakfast travel to Passau. Along the way we brie_y visit Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Passau, also known as the “Venice of Bavaria”, lies at the con_uence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers. The town’s architecture re_ects a unique style of Italian artists. The Baroque cathedral houses the largest church organ in the world. Enjoy a pleasant boat tour to the con_uence of the three rivers and then take a stroll along the city’s picturesque streets. Overnight in Passau.
DAY 3: Passau - Berchtesgaden
From Passau we continue to the Bavarian Alps. Berchtesgaden is a typical traditional Alpine village at the foot of Mount Watzmann. The region’s attractions include the salt mines, Königssee lake and Obersalzberg with the Eagle’s Nest, once the site of Hitler’s mountain retreat. After a visit to a local salt mine, you have the option of taking a boat tour on the Königssee or visiting the infamous Eagle’s Nest (not included). Overnight in Berchtesgaden.
DAY 4: Berchtesgaden - Füssen
In the morning we depart for Füssen. The road winds its way through scenic sub-Alpine landscape. We pause at the Chiemsee, the lake that is locally known as “The Sea of Bavaria”. Ascend by cable car to Kampenwand (1.500 m) and stop for a delicious lunch at the restaurant Alm, which specializes in traditional Alpine cuisine (lunch not included). Continue past various other lovely traditional Bavarian villages, such as Bad Tölz and Oberammergau until we reach Füssen, at the foot of the Alps. Overnight in Fussen.
DAY 5: Füssen - Neuschwanstein - Munich
In the morning we visit Neuschwanstein Castle, the most famous castle in Germany, built by Ludwig II, the notorious “mad king“. On the way to Munich we visit the Andechs Abbey. Optional tour of the abbey’s brewery (only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from June- September). Arrival in Munich, the charming capital of Bavaria. Overnight in Munich.
DAY 6: Munich
In the morning enjoy a city tour and visit famous attractions such as the elegant
Marienplatz square, the bustling Viktualienmarkt with many local delicacies and the
Hofbräuhaus. Later transfer to the airport for departure.
